Great Thai food and fast service. We've tried many a thing, including their tummy soup, which was warming and tasty. Pad Thai and pad, tea or classic and a little extra flavorful and saucy here. Their spicy basil chicken is one of my favorite things on the menu, the restaurant itself is nice because it's sort of indoors but in the front to their patio so you get a little bit of best of both worlds.
The service was great! My 6 year old nephew couldn't stop talking about how flavorful & delicious every dish was. It was amazing dinner.
Food here is always so fresh and delicious! This is the first place I tried PAD THAI! And it did not disappoint! So i had to come again! We love the fast service. The waiters are always so tentative. The location is always busy. It can get a little loud but it's not over whelming. The priced are fair! Especially for the portions.
I'm so glad the bff and I decided to take a chance here! With rave reviews and nearby competition from other Asian restaurants, I was a bit skeptical at first, but this hidden gem truly exceeded our expectations. Parking was a breeze, and we were grateful to find a spot right near the restaurant. Just a heads up for future visitors: be prepared with quarters or download the app, as the credit card machine wasn't functioning during our visit. The restaurant itself is cozy and intimate, with outdoor seating that's perfect for enjoying a nice day like the one we had. We opted to sit outside and soak up the ocean breeze, which only added to the overall ambiance. We shared the Chicken Pad Thai and egg rolls. It was the perfect amount of food for two people. The Pad Thai was cooked to perfection, with a great balance of sweet, sour, and savory flavors. The egg rolls were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with a delightful dipping sauce. Rice by Mama has earned a spot on my list of favorite Thai restaurants in Ventura, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic and delicious Thai cuisine. Don't let the nearby competition deter you - this spot is worth seeking out!
Service: can be a long wait to during peak hours. However the food comes very quickly! Staff is nice. Ambiance: casual, and clean. The is also some outdoor seating which is nice. Some of the tables can be close together. Food: amazing. I've had numerous curries and noodle dishes and they are all great. Lobe all their curries, pineapple fried rice and drunken noodles. My favorite though is their khao soi- absolutely amazing and very flavorful. Their papaya salad is great but I wish it came with not shrimp for the price
Tried this place a couple weeks ago for the first time. We ordered a pad thai, prik king and a pad see ew. Everything was delicious. The only thing we were disappointed with is that the noodles were very soft, we prefer more chewy noodles. Recommend trying this place!
Came here with a friend I was visiting around early dinner time. The restaurant's front was not too full, so we got a table right away. The servers who took our order and checked in on us were nice! We ordered the crab Rangoon (idk if that's how you spell it) but they were amazing and I'm usually not the biggest fan of seafood. My friend had ordered the seafood rice plate (I forgot the name) with scallops, shrimp and fish! It was a bit windy downtown, but the wind didn't affect our dinner much. I admired the tall windows and doors that brought in natural light. The only reason I give it a 4/5 is because my beef Pad Z Ew was good, however it had a bit of a 'alcohol' taste in some parts... it's hard to describe but the after taste was that of rubbing alcohol. I still enjoyed my meal, but it did kinda throw me off a little. Regardless, I'm sure it was an isolated incident so I would definitely still come back to try this place again!
Normally get this place to go but actually sat down today and the food is even better fresh. We ordered what you see. I normally get the pineapple curry and the fam gets the pineapple fried rice. This time, I ordered my usual and my table mates ordered the yellow curry and crying tiger. I ended up switching with my TM because she didn't like the crying tiger and I'm glad we did because it was delicious - I loved the sauces they had. The spicy one had just the right kick and the apple salad was sweet and crunchy! Thai teas , right balance of sweet as well. Only getting three stars because of the customer service - took a while to serve us, give and take the check, and to top it off ... I ordered to go for the fam and instead of bringing it to us - they left it on the counter. We waited like 15 mins thinking they forgot us again but no - they just left it smh . Other than that - I'll continue going :)
Went on January 14th with my boyfriend for the first time! Some of the BEST Thai food I've had. We got the Satay Chicken and it was very flavorful! The peanut sauce that it comes with was great as well. We also got the Crab Fried Rice, the Glass Noodle Stir-Fried, and the Sweet Sticky Rice. Wanted to try it with their mango but they ran out, unfortunately. I was such a huge fan of all of these dishes nonetheless! Came back on February 10th for their Mango Sticky Rice and it was a 10/10. The flavor is delicious and sweet!
